Welcome to All!

Hey everyone,
My name is Pasquale and I am a worship leader at my church in Orange, Ca. As a Catholic musician, I am constantly looking for resources to help me as a musician and to hear some great music! I have created this blog for me to give some help to musicians and to get some help from all of you!

I will be posting where all the cool concerts are happening, reviews of new songs, and opportunities to share guitar chords to some of the coolest songs. I will also try and help anyone new to playing the Liturgy on some what to do's and what NOT to do in the mass! Things I have learned over the years! So, once again, welcome and let's begin a community of prayer and worship!

Empty and Beautiful

Today I wanted to talk about a song that really touched my heart. I was listening to Matt Maher's new album Empty and Beautiful. Overall, I was really excited with the songs. Most of the album truly captured my heart both with passion for the Lord and with style in which Matt writes his songs. One song in particular really touched me. The title track, "Empty and Beautiful" brought me to tears. Literally. As I sat in my car driving and listening to this song. Matt's first lyrics"My past won't stop haunting me.In this prison there's a fight between who I am and who I used to be"
For those who know my past, they will understand what this means. For those who don't, I spent many years trying to find myself and my identity in a bottle and with women. Matt uses this song to tell the story of St. Paul. A man whose past seemed to always be in the shadows, but who never lost sight of who God called him to be. It has been a struggle to move away from my brokenness and become the man wants me to be. My brokennes leads me to be filled with something that will always make me whole. My God, Jesus the Christ.

My prayer with you today is this..God NEVER gives up on you. Who you used to be, God knows and God forgives, but it is who we are that God loves so very much. Praise God for that!

Till next post,

All for Him!
Pasquale

The benefits concert will be held on Saturday, August 23 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Cathedral in San Francisco. It features the music of well-known Catholic musician, John Angotti, supported by choirs directed by Margaret Durando from St. Francis High School in Mountain View and Church of the Nativity in Menlo Park and a band directed by Gabriel Lucas from Our Lady of the Wayside in Portola Valley.

John Angotti performed during the U.S. Papal visit on April 17 in Washington D.C. St. Patrick's is expected to enroll 30-35 new seminarians in the fall and at the same time experience huge growth in its sabbatical programs, mentoring activities, and other ongoing programs for priests.
